Description
Amazon is seeking a highly-intelligent, high-judgement, and self-motivated PR professional to join our GlobalSustainabilityPR team. This individual will be responsible for supporting and executing against PR plans and strategy in support of Amazons carbon free energy progress. Specifically, this person will focus on supporting the team through proactive storytelling, media relations, coordination between internal Amazon PR teams and morethis will include writing talking points, messaging and/or blog posts, providing day-to-day support to teams, and thinking big on cross-Amazoncollaboration.
This person should be able to work autonomously as well as with a team, coordinating with various internal stakeholders and partners around the world. This individual should be able to move fast with high standards, be a self-starter, detail oriented, have the ability to dive deep on complex topics and actively look around corners.
Key job responsibilities
-Support and execute strategic public relations programs and ongoing storytelling.
-Work closely with AmazonsSustainabilityteam and global PR teams around the world.
-Develop relationships with national business, tech, consumer, andsustainabilityfocused press to generate accurate and positive coverage.
-Lead announcements and PR campaigns around Amazon’s energy initiatives.
-Manage media inquiries and reputation issues around fast-moving topics.
-Build solid media relationships with keysustainability, energy and technology reporters.
-Think Big to establish storytelling moments, lead content creation and help establish Amazon as a world leader on energy issues.
-Collaborate across a wide array of internal teams and stakeholders.
-Build internal infrastructure and processes to support Amazon’s WorldwideSustainabilityPR and Energy goals.
-Advise Amazon executives and spokespeople on thoughtleadershipand media opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
– 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
– Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Qualifications
– Solid experience managing energy andsustainabilityissues
-Leadershipexperience at a large company, highly matrixed organized or agency
– Experience advising senior leaders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $188,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
