Job Summary:
The Promotions & Advertising Manager will be responsible for owning, planning and executing brand-enhancing promotions and events that support the company’s business objectives to deliver gaming volumes, market share and return on investment through flawless execution and superior customer service. In addition, he/she will be responsible for owning the advertising strategy and execution for the property.
Job Functions:
· Collaborates with the VP on the strategic development, direction and implementation of all promotional activities and events held at the casino and racetrack.
· Creates, implements and manages an effective marketing plan for the property, determining current and future objectives.
· Develops promotional themes, writes copy, and edits/proofs promotional collateral.
· Oversees proposals and detailed outlines for special events, for approval, and coordinates all event logistics to ensure outstanding promotion execution.
· Responsible for budget development, monitoring marketing and event costs, and ensuring budgetary compliance.
· Takes all steps necessary to ensure the financial and reputational success of promotions and special events.
· Ensures all promotions and special events adhere to the Illinois Gaming Board rules and regulations.
· Guides and ensures proper implementation of all new marketing strategies to ensure that they are successful while providing a high level of return on investment.
· Works at promotions and events directly with guests, and is responsible for addressing guest concerns of all types. Has direct ownership of each of these promotions and events.
· Oversees all social media for the property.
· Develops and manages the daily operation of advertising, media planning, special events and internal communications plans.
· Responsible for the development, management and implementation of advertising including, but not limited to, creative development, production, workflow, media planning, internet channel, and strategic plan development.
· Interfaces with other department managers to manage activities that require advertising, as well as tracking results of all direct response-advertising programs.
· Manages advertising agency relationship.
· Steward of the brand, managing usage, brand standards, and development of strategic marketing plans to enhance the brand.
· Assigns responsibilities to Promotions & Social Media Coordinator for their assistance with social media, communications and special events.
· Oversees property signage planning, development and execution.
· All other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Competencies:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education
· Relevant experience working in advertising, or a comparable marketing capacity.
· 3+ years casino experience
· Ability to remain professional in stressful situations and the ability to thrive in high pressure, fast-paced environment
· Exceptional verbal and written communication
· Ability to create and work within a budget
· Ensure confidentiality throughout the department
· Ability to obtain all required gaming licenses
· Ability to communicate with Team members and guests
· Ability to be a TEAM player
· Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
· Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
· Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
Working Conditions:
Work is performed both in an office and on the casino floor in a smoke-free environment. Hours of work will vary based on the monthly marketing calendar and average at least 40 hours per week. Based on the promotion hours will vary between daytime and early evening hours, typically. Holiday and weekend work schedules will also vary. At times the Promotions & Advertising Manager will be required to travel off property and execute events outside of the casino.
