Position Summary:
The Quality Development Director is a key member of our team, responsible for staff training, quality monitoring and the supervision of program coordination. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for improving lives and fostering inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision:
Lead and supervise Program Coordinators and Specialists providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities.
Ensure staff are trained in health and safety protocols, emergency procedures, and person-centered care practices.
Monitor staff performance, conduct evaluations, and implement improvement plans when needed.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Conduct random file audits of OSPs, BIPs and program plans to ensure deadlines are met and proper training is completed timely.
Ensure that OSP guidelines in program planning are followed and people supported have been educated regarding their rights and service options.
Conduct and trend satisfaction surveys completed by people supported, parent/guardians, and associates of the agency via phone and/or mail.
Coordinate with P&A investigations/procedures and any relevant training.
Assist the Executive Director in ensuring that the agencys training program meets licensure regulations and accreditation standards.
Staff Training:
Oversee orientation, position-based competency, and module requirements for all agency staff.
Coordinate with other internal agency staff members the orientation activities of newly hired staff.
Provide training to the agencys direct support staff and other professionals to ensure carryover of the training curriculum to on-site skill use.
Participate in the Regional Staff Trainer meetings and other training sessions organized by the State ID/DD Training Director.
Ensure integrity and security of both blank and completed tests, answer sheets, and answer keys.
Maintain a system for distributing curriculum modules, related audiovisual aids, and other training materials.
Assess the need for additional staff training within the agency and plan training activities to address identified needs.
Maintain necessary records needed to document training activities as well as individual staff members participation in the training program.
Required Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disability or other developmental disabilities.
Bachelors degree
Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) years of Program Coordinator experience.
Developmental Disabilities Module Certification
Required if Bachelor’s degree is not in a human services field.
CPR, AED, First Aid and Therapeutic Responses certified
Must be able to be certified within agency predefined timeframe per certification
Experience in staff training, education, or professional development within a healthcare setting.
Experience with Title XIX and HCBS.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and patient care standards.
Ability to develop engaging and effective training materials.
Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and other training tools.
Certification in training, adult education, or healthcare education (e.g., Certified Healthcare Trainer) is a plus.
Previous knowledge/experience with Protection & Advocacy (P&A) investigations/procedures is a plus.
