About the Role
As a Regional Category Manager at Apna Mart, you will be responsible for driving category growth, managing vendor relationships, and optimizing sales and profitability across your assigned region. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product visibility, execute promotional strategies, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy & Growth:
Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competition to drive category growth.
Identify new product opportunities and optimize the assortment mix.
Sales & Revenue Management:
Achieve sales, revenue, and profitability targets for the assigned category.
Monitor regional sales performance and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with store teams to enhance category visibility and customer engagement.
Vendor & Supplier Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to maximize profitability.
Ensure timely product availability and manage stock levels efficiently.
Pricing & Promotions:
Develop competitive pricing strategies based on market analysis.
Plan and execute regional promotions, discounts, and in-store activations.
Collaborate with marketing to drive category-focused campaigns.
Merchandising & Store Operations:
Ensure optimal product placement and store layouts to enhance customer experience.
Work with visual merchandising teams to improve product displays.
Conduct store visits to ensure category execution aligns with strategy.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Collaborate with regional sales, marketing, supply chain, and finance teams.
Train and mentor store managers and category executives on best practices.
Provide regular reports and insights to senior management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
MBA/Engineering from a premium institute (IRMA, MANAGE, XIMB, etc.).
Experience:
5-10 years in category management, retail merchandising, or sales in the retail industry.
Max age limit: 35 years.
Skills:
Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities.
Expertise in vendor negotiation and relationship management.
Sales forecasting and inventory management skills.
Leadership and cross-functional collaboration experience.
Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and retail analytics tools.
