Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to assist in updating the data, models, CRM UI and account based signal flow to sales. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management and planning expertise, along with the ability to understand complex CRM and technical tooling to guide projects forward within a highly matrixed organization. This role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across sales, business, marketing, and technical teams to ensure successful deployment and optimization of the solution that drives successful business outcomes. The candidate should also have familiarity with marketing automation platforms and sales processes to bridge the gap between technology and business needs.

The candidate will maintain relationships with the field to understand customer needs and inform research priorities. Understands and documents platform strengths, weaknesses, and GitHub’s competitive positioning to ensure that GitHub is ahead of the market and priority competitors. Partners with Sales to analyze customer needs and market user research to help shape recommendations for the product roadmap. Helps determine product and/or solution strategy based on sales and marketing needs, and GitHub’s business goals and strategy. Communicates product knowledge to stakeholders and develops understanding of customer experience. Executes the development of enablement with stakeholders and managers. Enables cross-functional partners and teams on messaging materials. Collaborates to build demos and other marketing assets to assist enablement and field teams.

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Product Vision and Strategy: Partners with Product to analyze customer needs and market user research to help shape recommendations for the product roadmap. Contributes to creation of the long-term vision and roadmap for a product and/or solution.Helps determine product and/or solution strategy based on customer needs, market and user research, competitive landscape, and GitHub’s business goals and strategy.

Project Management & Planning: Lead and manage end-to-end projects, deliverables, stakeholders and deadlines for Marketing Capability projects, ensuring they align with business goals and deliver value. Create detailed project plans, timelines, and track progress across cross-functional teams.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and operations teams, to gather requirements and understand their needs. Ability to walk technical teams through these plans, as well as non-technical stakeholders, adjusting your altitude accordingly.

Data Analysis & Insights: Propose and align on requirements for Marketing Capability and account based signal reporting. Comfortable diving into data to analyze performance metrics, and provide actionable insights to enhance tooling & processes to drive the roadmap. Track the impact of account based signal and CRM UI solutions on determined KPIs.

Enterprise Influence and Positioning: Executes the development of messaging and positioning with stakeholders and managers. In partnership with others, delivers thoroughly researched messaging and positioning framework with proof points and effective storytelling

Cross-Functional Orchestration: Develops trust with cross-functional partners and stakeholders (e.g., Marketing, Partner, Product, Design, Services, Sales) to deliver differentiated customer value and company growth. Builds knowledge of initiatives and programs across teams to improve and meet organizational goals. Creates feedback loop with sales team to ensure their continued buy-in with go-to market strategies.

Risk Management: Proactively identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and potential bottlenecks, ensuring that projects meet deadlines and performance targets.

Qualifications:

Required/Minimum Qualifications :

5+ years experience in Marketing
OR Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in Marketing
OR Master’s Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in Marketing
OR equivalent experience

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years Business-to-Business (B2B) product marketing experience.
Familiarity with CRM platforms and marketing automation platforms and understanding of sales processes is highly desirable, especially when those systems are leveraged in custom ways at scale per the business needs.
Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., GitHub).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, track performance metrics, and use insights to guide decision-making and the product roadmap.
Familiarity with CRM platforms and marketing automation platforms and understanding of sales processes is highly desirable, especially when those systems are leveraged in custom ways at scale per the business needs.
Compensation Range: The base salary range for this job is USD $79,500.00 – USD $210,700.00 /Yr.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual’s base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
