Event Planner for Flavor After Ours Food Truck
Location: Silver Spring, MD (Remote with occasional site visits)
Job Type: Part-Time / Contract
About Us: Flavor After Ours is a vibrant food truck business based in Silver Spring, MD, dedicated to delivering exceptional culinary experiences. As we prepare to launch our second truck, we’re looking for an experienced Event Planner to help us manage and coordinate 50-100 events annually. Our service-oriented company prioritizes our customers and employees, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
Position Overview: As our Event Planner, you will play a crucial role in planning and executing a wide range of events. This includes everything from identifying and securing new venues to maintaining existing relationships and managing our social media accounts. You will work remotely 90% of the time, with the flexibility to set your schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning: Develop and implement detailed plans for contracted events, including timelines, budgets, and logistics.
Event Facilitation: Set up and maintain communication with event contacts throughout the planning process.
Coordination: Oversee the logistics and execution of events to ensure a smooth experience for clients and guests.
Site Visits: Travel to proposed venues for assessments and planning.
Reporting: Provide monthly reports on event progress, venue scouting, and festival participation.
Research: Identify and secure new venues, events, and festivals to expand our reach.
Social Media Management: Manage and update our social media accounts to promote events and engage with our audience.
Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with existing contacts while developing new opportunities.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years of experience in catering or event planning sales (priority consideration given).
Proven experience in finding and securing new venues and events.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and marketing strategies.
A passion for food and creativity in event design.
Willingness to travel for site visits as needed.
Salary: Open and commensurate with experience; commission/salary structure available for the right candidate.

Duties
– Coordinate all aspects of events from start to finish
– Liaise with vendors, caterers, and other event professionals
– Manage event budgets and ensure all expenses stay within the allocated budget
– Oversee event setup, including decorations, seating arrangements, and audiovisual equipment
– Handle event logistics such as scheduling, timelines, and contracts
– Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests
– Assist in fundraising efforts for events when required
Qualifications
– Previous experience in event planning or management preferred
– Knowledge of the restaurant, catering, hotel, or events management industry
– Strong budgeting skills to manage event finances effectively
– Excellent organizational abilities to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
– Exceptional customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction
– Proficient in time management to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects concurrently

Pay: $20.00 – $45.00 per hour
