JOB SUMMARY : Manage and enhance internal communication strategies that align to core values, vision and mission, and CCSD Strategic Plan. Work closely with departments, schools, and other members of the Communications Office to create and implement communications plans that achieve collaboratively set objectives and goals. Develop stories and create visual content that informs audiences about the ways CCSD prepares students for successful futures and contributes to a stronger community. Manages districtwide newsletters to staff, families, and community. Play key support role in crisis communications.

Serve as liaison to departments and schools to determine communication needs and create communication plans aligned to goals and objectives.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS : This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.

Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, English, marketing, or similar field
Three (3) years of professional work experience in communications, journalism, public relations, English, marketing, or similar field
Exceptional relationship-building, strategic planning, facilitation, and project-management skills necessary to organize a variety of stakeholders around common goals
Experience with creating and implementing communications plans, creating compelling content, writing for specific audiences, and building relationships
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal relations skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
