Today, CADES operates over 30 community living arrangements, adult day programs, the George Crothers Memorial School, and the All-Abilities Playground.
CADES seeks a Director of Development to further our mission of empowering those with special needs to achieve their highest potential.
Position Description: The Director of Development reports directly to the CEO and has a direct relationship with members of the Board of Directors. The Director is a non-voting member of the Development Committee of the Board of Directors, and supervises development staff, volunteers, and interns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement development initiatives to support the strategic direction and core values of the organization.
Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of friend and fundraising efforts.
Cultivate relationships with current and prospective supporters and funders, including individual and corporate donors and local and regional influential members of the community.
Consistently create inroads for the CEO to cultivate such relationships.
Maintain oversight over all fundraising activities including major giving, grants, special events, appeals, corporate partnership initiatives and other related activities.
Work with the Board of Directors, including the Development Committee in annual planning, implementation and analysis of fundraising projects.
Participate in the planning, writing and reviewing of grants, budgets and related report documentation.
Communicate with community and internal stakeholders to gain support for the programs.
Recruit, develop and retain a well-trained development staff that upholds the mission, core values, policies and procedures of the organization.
Establish volunteer recruitment, training and management practices to exceed the expectations of both volunteers and internal stakeholders.
Collect, analyze and act on volunteer trends to continually improve the volunteer experience.
Develop an annual budget and operating plan to support the department.
Manage expenses for all fundraising, public relations and communication efforts.
Manage all donated funds according to established accounting policies and procedures and in alignment with best practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of progressive management experience in development.
Proficient in the utilization and analysis of data to evaluate trends and complete reports.
Proficient in the ability to set up systems, create procedures, and develop people.
Proponent of technology to increase efficiency and manage data.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Above-average Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
Bachelors degree required.
Willing and able to travel locally.
