Senior Manager-Media Relations (UAE National)
My Client is one of Dubai government’s most influencing departments and they are looking for a UAE National as a preference in a new position;
Senior Manager, Media relations. This role is part of the aggressive expansion plan and will go hand in hand with the expo 2020 projects.
Reporting to the Communications Director, you will be responsible for managing communications with all local, regional and international media including consumer, trade and specialist publications, positioning Dubai as a leading economy.
Some responsibilities are as follows:
Manage the Media Office, creating a ‘best-in-class’ and 24/7 service to the media, ensuring that information is delivered and all media enquiries are responded to in an effective and efficient manner.
Manage the Online Media Centre, ensuring that all content is kept up to date and targeted to the correct profile/platform.
Develop the Media Relations Strategy at the local and regional level, in coordination with the Director of Communications, including programmes to build relationships with local and regional media; and the development of stories and creative campaigns which promote Dubai.
Work with each Overseas Office to develop a Media Relations Strategy for their market, ensuring that it is reflective of the Head Office Media Relations Strategy and that it delivers against the strategic objectives of the organisation.
Using in-house and agency resources, manage the creation of all media content including, but not limited to key messaging documents, press releases, articles, images, reactive statements, Q and As, speeches, and spokespeople briefings.
Language Requirements:
Arabic – Fluent / Excellent
English – Fluent / Excellent
Job Skills:
University degree in Media, journalism, PR or related field.
7-10 years of experience, at least 3 years of which should be in a supervisory position.
Agency or in-house experience, with experience in tourism/destination marketing being advantageous.
Existing relationships with key local and regional media (Arabic and English).
Exceptional Arabic and English writing and spoken communication skills.
