Overview
We’re seeking a creative and customer-focused professional to join our team, managing both the marketing and social media efforts (40% of the role) and supporting sales (60% of the role). This unique and new position will be responsible for elevating our brand presence across multiple channels while also engaging with clients directly. Primary Responsibilities
Marketing (40%)
1. Strategy Collaboration:
Work closely with the owners and site managers to develop effective marketing strategies.
2. Content Creation & Media Sharing:
Generate engaging social media content, including copywriting, images, videos, and photography.
Edit and refine assets for various platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
3. Community Management:
Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and reviews to foster a positive and engaged online community.
4. Offline Marketing Support:
Assist with events, flyers, and other offline marketing initiatives aligned with the overarching strategy.
5. Email & SMS Campaigns:
Draft, schedule, and send out newsletters and text notifications to current and potential clients.
Sales (60%)
1. Inbound Call Support:
Serve as a key team member to field inbound calls related to appointments, inquiries, and general information – this includes being available on weekends (to react to calls)
2. Outbound Calls & Lead Conversion:
Reach out to potential customers who have shown interest in our services, following up to secure bookings and answer questions.
3. Front Desk Duties:
Work one day a week on-site (Saturdays at DogCity) to assist with check-ins, appointment bookings, and customer service.
Work Environment & Expectations
On-Site & Remote Hybrid:
You will need to be on-site regularly to capture content, collaborate with the team, and manage in-person sales activities.
Much of the content planning, editing, and administrative work can be done from home if preferred.
Travel Between Locations:
Regularly visit all DogCity and Seattle Canine Club sites to gather photos, film videos, and align marketing strategies across each location.
Weekend Availability:
Required to be on-site at DogCity on Saturdays.
Be prepared to respond to inbound calls and sales inquiries on Sundays (remotely).
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Experience in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred (We can teach a lot but there’s a level of talent in communication that is required).
Experience with social media management, content creation, or community engagement.
Previous sales or customer service experience is a plus – personal traits are more important
Skills & Traits:
Strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to create, edit, and post photo/video content.
Comfort with basic graphic design tools (We have a Canva license or Adobe Photoshop).
Proficiency with social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
Friendly, outgoing demeanor—comfortable speaking with customers on the phone.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Passion for pets and a willingness to learn about our services.
Any experience in the pet world would set you appart
Technical Requirements:
Good handling of computer skills to execute and schedule campaigns – we can teach most of this
Familiarity with email marketing platforms and SMS campaign tools –
Basic knowledge of CRM software or scheduling systems is helpful.
