The Marine Sales & Customer Engagement Manager will play the lead role in driving revenue for the marina and associated sales & service facility. This individual will be responsible for selling new and pre-owned boats, renting and renewing marina slips, promoting additional services such as winter storage and maintenance, and planning social events that enrich the customer experience and promote sales. A successful candidate will understand and employ traditional sales and marketing methods, along with ongoing community and relationship development efforts, to achieve these goals.

Responsibilities:
Watercraft and membership boating sales
· Develop and execute strategies to drive boat sales. This includes brokerage listings and sales, as well as new and pre-owned inventory sales.
· Develop and execute strategies to drive annual Boat Club membership agreements.
· Guide customers through the boat-buying and membership processes, offering personalized advice to match clients with the right products.
· Foster strong relationships with new and existing clients to enhance loyalty and generate repeat sales.
Slip rentals and customer retention
· Manage slip rental inquiries, agreements, renewals, and related communications.
· Collaborate with marina staff to ensure slip availability aligns with customer demand and seasonal adjustments.
· Serve as a key contact for slip renters, addressing questions, concerns, and needs promptly.
Promotion of marina services
· Actively promote and sell mechanical repair, storage and maintenance services, ensuring customers understand and take advantage of these offerings.
· Collaborate with the marina operations team to communicate service details, costs, and scheduling.
Marketing and social media management
· Develop, implement, and oversee a marketing strategy to promote boat sales, slip rentals, and marina services.
· Maintain an active and engaging presence on social media platforms to connect with the local boating community and increase brand visibility.
· Create digital and print marketing materials to support sales efforts, leveraging various channels to reach target audiences.
Community engagement and social events
· Assist with the design and coordination of a variety of social activities, events, and gatherings for marina patrons, such as seasonal parties, boat shows, fishing tournaments, and family-friendly gatherings.
· Foster a welcoming and vibrant marina community by actively engaging with customers, responding to their interests, and building lasting relationships.
Customer experience and service excellence
· Serve as the face of the marina, providing excellent customer service and cultivating a positive experience for all clients.
· Proactively address customer feedback and work with the marina team to continually improve service offerings.
Brand development
· Work toward improving and raising the quality of the brand at all times. Develop public and customer recognition that this is the finest marina in the Midwest.
· Work with homeowners within the resort and boaters in the marina to recognize the benefits of all forms of boating and the benefits of water-related activities.
· Integrate as many activities as possible with boaters and homeowners, and work toward making homeowners boaters, and more boaters homeowners.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 3-5 years in sales, customer service, or management, preferably within a marina, dealership, hospitality, or resort environment.
· Strong understanding of the boating industry, including experience with boat sales and marina services (boating licenses or certifications are a plus).
· Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales and marketing strategies; experience with digital marketing is a plus.
· Passion for building relationships and creating positive, memorable customer experiences.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in social media engagement and content creation.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays during the boating season, and as required by marina activity.
Compensation and benefits:
Base Salary + Commission – Competitive base salary with a commission/incentive structure based on sales and service milestones.
