SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR (REQ 3857) Jobs in Homer, AK at South Peninsula Hospital
South Peninsula Hospital is looking for an experienced person to manage its social media presence. This person will be highly skilled in information gathering, sharing and story-telling in a way to create content that is engaging to an online audience. This position is pivotal in managing an online presence that meaningfully connects South Peninsula Hospital to the community it serves.
Must have a familiarity with Homer, Alaska, and the southern Kenai Peninsula.
Contractor vs hospital supplied equipment (cell phone) is negotiable. A laptop will be provided. On-site space can be made available as needed.
This is a temporary, freelance contract that begins as soon as the right candidate is found. It has the potential to be extended or become permanent.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage South Peninsula Hospital’s social media accounts
Maintain and expand the hospital’s social media presence
Plan, write and produce media content including text, images, videos and stories.
Collaborate with various team members within the organization to develop compelling content
Create and manage a content library
Respond to comments, messages and inquiries to provide factual information while maintaining positive customer interactions and sharing helpful, factual information about the hospital
Efficiently manage deadlines
Create and adhere to a social content calendar
Generate reports on social media performance to share with leadership
REQUIRED SKILLS
Excellent communication skills – the ability to craft engaging copy
Knowledge of social platforms, especially Facebook and Instagram
Familiarity with social media analytics
Basic understanding of photography, videography, and editing
Works enthusiastically and contributes to a positive work environment.
Able to take direction, as well as work independently
Able to work a flexible schedule, as well as occasional evenings & weekends
Skilled at building and nurturing relationships
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Requires a high school diploma or GED, and a degree or education in marketing, communications, Business, Digital Media or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a professional environment.
Prior experience managing a Facebook page.
Familiarity with other social media platforms.
Photography and videography skills a must.
Has good writing and editing skills.
Healthcare knowledge not required, but experience in healthcare helpful
