Job Description
Provides professional business advice and assistance to help people start, manage, grow, or sell small businesses. Supports the overall mission of the Laurel Ridge SBDC to improve the economies of the communities we serve by providing professional guidance to small business owners. Meets with clients and will help to generate clients through participation in Laurel Ridge SBDC and the Virginia SBDC network activities. Maintains client records through maintenance of files and the CIC system.
Compensation:
The hourly pay range for this position is $39.10 – $56.69, however, actual starting hourly rate will be commensurate with education, credentials, and/or experience. The position is part time and as such cannot exceed 29 hours per week and is not eligible for health or leave benefits. However, the position may offer educational benefits through our professional development and educational assistance policies.
Telework
According to DHRM policy 1.61 Teleworking, effective July 5, 2022, Virginia state employees will return to the workplace. Consistent with pre-pandemic policies, telework may be an option for certain eligible positions. Eligible positions are determined by the type of work and job requirements of the position, as defined by heads of agencies.

Knowledge of Microsoft office products, and the ability to use online programs.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a positive, clear, concise method.
Understanding of core modern small business operations, like business strategy, finance and accounting, marketing, sales, technology and tools
Ability to coach business owners and leaders
Able to manage own schedule, meet deadlines, and hit monthly goals
Able to problem solve
Proven subject matter knowledge, which may be evidenced by training, experience, and/or credentials.
