Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales and Marketing to lead our sales and marketing initiatives. This role is critical in driving growth, enhancing brand awareness, and developing strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in account management, business development, and technical sales, along with exceptional leadership skills to inspire and manage a high-performing team.
Garland Lodge & Golf Resort is a magnificent resort with over 350 beds in a variety of lodging accommodations from lodge suites to 4-bedroom villas, four championship golf courses, an excellent reputation for food and beverage as well as overall customer service.
The Lewiston, Michigan area is a small town, located 70 miles east of Traverse City, 3 hours north of Detroit, Grand Rapids and Lansing. The resort is the largest employer in the County.
Duties
Proven track record of growth in both transient and group business
A minimum of five years’ experience in an upscale golf resort
Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities, understand customer needs, and stay ahead of industry trends
Advanced knowledge of Delphi and PMS systems with Springer Miller experience highly desired
Proven success in current marketing techniques using technology and digital opportunities increasing both customer acquisition and retention strategies
Has successfully led sales teams in group and transient sales
Reputation as an excellent trainer and mentor
Golf resort experience is an absolute requirement
Skills and Characteristics Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:
Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and other personnel
Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that drive resort growth
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Director of Sales and Marketing is preferred although a number two position at a similar property will be considered
Enjoys being accountable for the generation of all revenue
Licensing, Education and/or Other Special Certification(s) Required:
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must have high school degree
