Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, the analyst will act as a staff resource for monitoring continuing education related to licensing and certification (L&C). The incumbent will be involved in the development and assessment of key continuing education and licensing and certification issues and analysis; make recommendations to management and monitor operational efficiencies of the major program work processes; and develop outreach about the licensing and continuing education programs and associated laws and regulations, including formal and informal presentations. Incumbent will interpret and apply State and local laws and regulations as they pertain to DPR licensing and certification and provide high standards of customer service for public and private stakeholders. The incumbent will also help L&C work towards online licensing functions, by performing research and analyses.

Working Conditions

Building is a climate-controlled environment and under artificial lighting.
The duties of this position are performed indoors in an office setting. Use a computer for up to 8 hours per workday.
Lift and carry boxes weighing up to 20 pounds.
NOTE: This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.

This position is with the Licensing and Certification Program of DPR and is located at the Bradshaw Regional Office in Rancho Cordova (Free Parking). DPR’s Licensing and Certification Program is responsible for examining and licensing or certifying individuals and businesses that recommend, sell, or apply pesticides or use pest control/methods/devices for hire.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate’s relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Experience with content management systems (CMS) including platforms such as Granicus (GovDelivery).
Experience with computer applications related to desktop publishing, graphics, and video design (i.e., MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, Canva, Constant Contact) and the Internet.
Experience in facilitating virtual and in person presentations.
Strong background in a Communications related field (i.e., journalism, English, graphic design, media relations, public relations, or marketing).
