Purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to achieve monthly and yearly business objectives of catering corporate customers and dealers (Marine business), to ensure customer service using the allocated resources and to inspire team members (if any) to achieve their own goals.
Responsibilities:
To visit operational areas to identify customers and assess their needs through customer mapping, ensuring business generation based on the potential. Meet monthly and yearly sales volume and value targets.
To prepare and submit quotations based on product requirement and compatible business terms; Negotiating with the customer based on the quotation and communicating any special business terms for approval to the operational manager.
To build and maintain sustainable professional relationships at various levels within existing and new clients to anticipate future demand and ensure business growth. Additionally, address and resolve customer complaints as needed.
To coordinate with finance and sales administration for invoicing operations, and work with the product distribution team to ensure stocking and delivery of materials timely.
To liaise with the Supply Chain for demand planning, forecasting and raising special orders timely.
To gather information on market operations and execute necessary measures with supervising manager’s approval.
To liaise with Marketing for new product development and promotional activities;
To liaise with Research and Development team for sample development and paint specification preparation.
To conduct paint application projects using trained applicators and ensuring on-time project delivery.
To develop paint applicator pool and organize trainings for the applicators if required.
To prepare and submit activity reports and monthly business reports to the supervising manager.
Regularly review progress against set objectives on a monthly and half-yearly basis.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Naval Architecture/ Mechanical Engineering/ Chemistry /Applied Chemistry from a well-recognized university.
At least 1 to 2 years of experience in B2B Sales Operations preferably in the paint and chemicals industry.
NACE Coating Inspector Certification will be an added advantage.
