Job Description
Zellij Gallery is looking for an energetic and inviting Showroom Assistant to support our Manager in the West Hollywood location on Thursdays , Fridays and Saturdays. We are a global design firm specializing in custom Zellij Moroccan Tiles, handcrafted by artisans in our factory in Fez, Morocco. This is an opportunity for someone who is passionate about design and sales, who is self-driven, and customer service oriented. The job entails day to day encounters with clients new and established, assisting them with beautifying their spaces.
Duties
The job is multifaceted and requires overseeing multiples different aspects:
– Constantly updating the showroom’s website and social media accounts
– Answer phones and respond to clients emails
– Keep up to date on progress on all projects and publishing’s containing completed works
– Ensure the product display and visual marketing is to the highest and prescribed standard
– Drive sales efforts on the showroom floor by professionally greeting, qualifying and assisting both walk in customers as well as appointment-based customers
– Identify, initiate, build, and maintain relationships with key architects, designers, developers, project owners, and product specifiers within the Architecture and Design community
– Maintain and increase professional and technical knowledge by reviewing product literature, manuals, and manufacturer bulletins
– Follow up on phone/email leads to develop lasting relationships with potential clients
– Logs all client visits, contact information, and detailed customer preference and selection notes
– Establish and maintain inventory integrity and accuracy protecting company assets at all times
– Maintains detailed customer records including selections and sales sheets
– Provide design consultation for all walk in and/or scheduled showroom traffic with high ability to influence in the product selection process
– Handle all sample needs, quotes and sales tasks related to the customer projects
– Review and ensure proper pricing for all special orders including handling and freight charges
– Ensure the showroom is clean, organized, and a safe work environment
Qualifications
Required:
– 3+ years in Interior Design, Marketing, Social Media and or other relevant fields
– Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing, Sales, Architecture, Interior Design, or other relevant fields
– Self-motivated with a personal passion for art and design
– Fastidious attention to detail; strong business acumen & entrepreneurial spirit
– Ability to multitask and prioritize work through effective time management
– Able to prioritize responsibilities with the appropriate level of urgency, able to listen and can use this information to solve problems, anticipate issues and make correct decisions based on a variety of situations
– Must be results driven and utilize knowledge to meet or exceed KPIs and goals
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Friendly and outgoing personality
– Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Proficiency with Mac Operating System, IOS devices, Microsoft Office and Google Applications
– Valid Class-C driver’s license
– Ability to read, write, and speak in English
– Well-Groomed, polished appearance
– Ability to lift 30 lbs
Preferred:
– Previous experience in luxury or high-end sales
– Basic Skills in Quickbooks, CAD, Photoshop, and InDesign
– Prior experience in the tile and stone industry
– Design experience is a plus
