Airlink is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit humanitarian logistics organization that connects airlines with vetted nonprofits to deliver disaster responders and supplies to communities in crisis worldwide.
Airlink and its airline partners have transported nearly 14,000 passengers and 6,700 tons of cargo in support of a broad range of humanitarian initiatives that have provided aid to more than 64 million people. Airlink has saved our NGO partners more than $43,000,000 in transport costs.
As Airlink celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2025, we are looking ahead to the next five years, with annual goals that call for increasing our team by 25%, refining our fundraising strategies, and strengthening our brand. To that end, we are seeking an executive affairs associate to support our President & CEO’s increasing external relations portfolio.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Digital Media Associate serves as the team member responsible for the creation, implementation, performance analysis, and general management of social media content and accounts.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, engaging storyteller, and trusted advisor able to support Airlink’s fundraising, mission delivery, and general organizational communications needs. Due to the nature of Airlink’s mission supporting disaster response, there will be an occasional need to work extended hours or on weekends with limited advance notice.
Primary Responsibilities:
Social Media:
Implement the social media strategy that supports program announcements, news, and fundraising.
Serve as a brand ambassador for Airlink’s social media accounts, ensuring consistency of message, look, and feel of all content.
Work across teams to create social media content calendar the highlights Airlink’s 15 years of responses and quickly posts about rapid-responses to disasters.
Support staff trips and events on social media, including live posting.
Manage day-to-day engagement on social media platforms between donors and partners.
Create innovative content, including videos and engaging graphic designs that harness trending marketing strategies.
Generate templates for staff and stakeholders to speak about Airlink and their role in the humanitarian sector on social media.
Work with leadership on managing any social media-based advertising.
Monitor and conduct monthly reports on the effectiveness of communications efforts.
Communications & Digital Content:
Support the organization’s internal and external communications, including website, newsletter, blog, and annual reports as needed.
Organize and maintain the organization’s library of footage; work with leadership to reorganize and create naming conventions and other best practice standards.
Assist with creation of fundraising campaigns, including email marketing, digital content, and more.
Assist with creation of NGO partner newsletters and reports as needed.
Support special projects as needed, including quarterly and year-end board events, large-scale responses, the 15th anniversary planning, and more as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience + High School diploma.
At least two years of non-profit communications experience (relevant agency or for-profit experience considered).
Strong project management and people skills; ability to pivot seamlessly between priorities and work well on a collaborative and interdisciplinary team.
Strong writing and storytelling skills through images, video editing and graphic design; ability to craft narratives that resonate across audiences and cultures.
Strong proficiency in social media content, management systems, and analytics tools.
Innovative and creative thinker who works to improve the streamlining process of projects.

Location:
Airlink is headquartered in downtown Washington, D.C. and operates a hybrid work schedule with the team in-office three days a week. Given the collaborative nature of this position, we are primarily considering candidates who are in or willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area. Highly qualified candidates will be considered for remote opportunities.
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000. Additionally, Airlink provides a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to:
