YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)
The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for communicating all Virgin Hotels Las Vegas (VHLV) initiatives to customers, team members, and resort partners, ensuring that the end users can execute VHLV initiatives at a high level. In addition, this role will design, handle, and traffic creative development/graphic arts, advertising, social media, public relations, and ensure that all content on and off property is accurate and up to date.
Requirements:
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)
DIRECT MARKETING
Exercise creative discretion to design, develop, deploy, and maintain all marketing communication. Author copy, create layout and content blocks, and ensure consistent messaging across all marketing platforms
Work independently and with the marketing team on creative design solutions that are based on strategy and ROI
Work to budgets and within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Develop concepts for all print and digital channels, including brochures, presentations, advertisements, illustrations, websites, and apps
Coordinate all aspects of campaign production and deployment; develop and design HTML email campaigns; maintain ESP database, approval routing process, testing and deployment process; deploy calendar planning, cross-departmental and cross-functional interaction and collaboration; monitor email and landing page traffic and post-campaign reporting
Create and update all marketing list pulls, relational linking files, and other relevant input data for the execution of all online marketing campaigns
Assist in developing a productive relationship with the email vendor (currently Experiture) as key client point-of-contact to maximize vendor value
Collaborate with the property and corporate marketing teams to ensure both the successful creation of online marketing campaigns as well as proofing and issue-resolution during deployment
Explore additional functionality within our email marketing tools to drive additional profit
Regularly research new technologies/best practices and incorporate them into email programs
Partner with internal and external resources to roll-out enhancements to online marketing platforms and processes
Create and maintain a rigorous testing program to ensure optimal performance of the email channel
Analyze data by campaign and segment to quickly key in on areas of improvement
Assist in campaign strategy and the creation of new marketing opportunities
Maintain a competitive analysis of competitor emails
Work effectively with others and other departments to streamline current processes and procedures
GENERAL
Support an atmosphere that invites guests to make Virgin Hotels Las Vegas their choice for entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to other team members to provide superior guest service
Formulate, design, and follow through on rules, processes, and policies for marketing under the guidance of the Database Marketing Manager and in accordance with VHLV rules and regulations
Understand regulatory requirements in multiple states, and abide by those regulations that govern the marketing and direct marketing functions
Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing
Ensure department processes meet regulatory requirements
Adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by the Nevada Gaming Control Board
Maintain security and confidentiality of marketing programs, guest information, and databases
Support Special Events, Promotions, and Casino Marketing as needed
Establish an effective working relationship with all operating departments
Periodically meet with VHLV and Virgin Hotels Las Vegas leadership, departmental directors, and property leadership as necessary
Use personal device/cellular phone for job-related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.
Enforce all property, corporate, and departmental policies and procedures
Must attend all appropriate Human Resources Leadership Training classes
Perform all other duties as assigned

MUST HAVE’S
Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
Minimum 21 years of age
Bachelor’s degree in marketing preferred, or at least one year of hands-on Graphic Design, Web Design, Advertising, or design-related field
1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a resort or marketing agency.
Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form
Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts
Strong time management skills, with a proven ability to effectively coordinate multiple tasks and meet conflicting deadlines
Must be self-motivated, hard-working, well-organized, and resilient to ever-changing timelines, requests, and deliverables
Strong sense of design and creativity are a must along with being detail oriented
Must have a clear technical understanding of how to prep and build files in both digital and print specifications
Ability to execute across multiple media types
A strong sense of project ownership from inception to final execution
Knowledge and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign required. CSS and HTML5 a plus
Intermediate capabilities and hands-on expertise with Microsoft Office Suite of products and applications
Ability to integrate traditional communications strategies into online media tactics, knowledge and experience with digital media, online tools, and the use of analytics tools to measure traffic and conversion preferred
Excellent communication skills, project management efficacy
– highly organized, results-oriented, and able to take initiative and lead projects
Ability to work independently and with a team; ability to manage multiple projects and staff, including freelancers and vendors

THE WORKING CONDITIONS
Lift up to 40 pounds
Must be able to withstand prolonged sitting, standing, stretching, bending, and kneeling without restriction, work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and pet dander/hair
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, and maintain physical stamina and mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to obtain and maintain valid gaming license required
