COPYWRITER
Celebrating more than 40 years in business, Saf-Gard Safety Shoe Company and its sister company, SR Max, develop and implement safety footwear programs for multiple industries ranging from grocery stores and restaurants to large industrial, government, and service organizations. We’re devoted to providing exceptional service and the latest technologies to improve each customer’s experience with our product. Our products include our own lines of safety footwear as well as well-known brands like Timberland PRO, Dr. Martens, Reebok, Skechers, and HOKA.
We’re looking for a Copywriter to join our growing in-house marketing team, working across the two divisions to drive growth with creative solutions, contribute to a diverse set of creative tasks and leverage learning opportunities to develop the team’s skillset. A copywriter who thinks creatively but also strategically to be able to articulate ideas and tell brand stories.
Copywriters at Saf-Gard/SR Max are expected to:
craft unexpected solutions that are on-brand and on-strategy
have the copy sensibilities to develop ideas thoughtfully and imaginatively and shift approach based on application and brand
develop copy across mediums, like digital advertising, email communications, video content and print materials
drive brand style and tone consistently across the two brands
take initiative to meet agreed upon deadlines and proactively communicate with the team to manage projects
articulate and present creative ideas and your thought process clearly
respectfully discuss feedback with directors and peers
collaborate with in-house designers, art directors, marketing and sales team members
think big picture across brands and solve down to the details
build rapport and credibility with team members based upon brand/product knowledge, proactivity, and a demonstrated understanding of the business goals and how they can help achieve them
proactively share their ideas and passion, contributing to team discussion
REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of experience as a copywriter in an ad agency or an in-house team
Experience writing for multiple media channels (website, video scripts, banner ads, etc.)
You must link to your portfolio on your resume or cover letter for consideration.
Ideally, this team member would join us in the Greensboro, NC office one day per week.
